Brown stated that Dunbar intentionally struck "multiple pedestrians" when he drove his car
into a group outside Jeffery Pub on Chicago’s South Side around 5 a.m. Aug. 14.
Brown described the incident as a "senseless act violence" and expressed hope that the arrest would bring closure to the loved one of the victims.
He said that there are no circumstances that can make the loss of a loved one easier.
"But we hope that bringing the offender to justice gives some relief."
Deenihan stated that the suspect drove at almost 60 mph and then crashed into four people.
He said that the gas pedal was fully extended to the ground and that he had never tried to brake when the incident occurred.
